Operation BBQ Relief In Santa Rosa and Napa

Monday, October 16, 2017

Operation BBQ Relief is currently set up in two locations, Santa Rosa and Napa.

In Santa Rosa, Operation BBQ Relief joined forces with Food Network star Guy Fieri and his team, Sonoma Catering Co., as well as Low Voltage Security. Together, they served 10,000 meals to those affected by the wildfires and first responders in the Santa Rosa community and surrounding area, with The Salvation Army and other groups aiding with deliveries.

In Napa, Amiee D'Maries Events and other chefs/caters aided OBR teams to cook and deliver 8,153 meals over the past five days.

Total Meals Served to Date: 18,153

Cal Fire reported that, as of this morning, the containment of two of the three largest fires are approaching 50% containment, and firefighter resources would be reduced from a high of over 9,000 to around 7,000. The three main fires immediately surrounding Operation BBQ Relief's locations are:

  • Tubbs Fire - 35,000+ acres burned, 45% contained (main towns threatened: Santa Rosa & Calistoga)
  • Atlas Fire - 50,000+ acres burned, 45% contained (main towns threatened: Napa & Yountville)
  • Nuns Fire - 46,000+ acres burned, 10% contained (main towns threatened: Santa Rosa & Sonoma)

Operation BBQ Relief will continue serving meals until Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
